Last Cape Night

image

Today was our last full day on Cape Cod! Tomorrow we’ll go out to breakfast before heading home. The trip is about four hours with rest stops, but hopefully we’ll be able to make it back in less time than that if we don’t stop for lunch.

Today was a late start. We went to Chatam and arrived at about one, and walked the main street to go shopping. I did not buy anything, as I spent a lot at a general store in Brewster yesterday to get supplies for the craft fair I hope to have a booth at in October. There wasn’t much that caught my interest, anyway. As you can see from the map up there, Chatam is near the bottom of the Cape.

Locate the area on the map called Orleans. There’s a beach, Skaket Beach, in that town which has a great space and isn’t shark-dangerous in any way, and fairly shallow, as it’s further inland than other cape beaches. At low tide there are all these little islands to walk on, so we took a spin around those after Chatam and ice cream. They’re called Tidal Flats.

Pretty, right? Although, it was only four thirty when we went, so no magical sunset feel. We have been out on other years in the evening, though, so I can tell you that this picture is really what it looks like. If you’re in Cape Cod, you must go to Skaket.

Oh, and also, this morning I got up at five to try wake-back-to-bed lucid dreaming and I had a snack…

Yum. So good. If you don’t know what lucid dreaming is, look it up! Sadly, I did not have a lucid dream. Better luck tonight?

Anyway, my sister is pestering me to go pack, so off I go. See you tomorrow for details of our trip home!

Paddleboarding!!!

Today our Cape adventure was something we’ve never done in nine years here – and it was my idea. 😉 As you may guess, today was our first time paddle boarding!

I wish I had pictures to show you. Our guide took them, and he said he’ll send them soon, so I’ll show when I get them. We went out on rented paddleboards and across a harbor, then down a channel to a sort of bay. There were baby jellyfish in the water, which kind of freaked me out, because I was worried I would fall in and get stung! Luckily, we all stayed afloat. My board was a little tipsy so the instuctor gave me his and took mine. Very nice of him. 😊

So a great time!!! I’ll show pictures when we get them.

Mall Day!

Today was a day spent at the Cape Cod mall. I could have stayed in Barnes and Noble FOREVER due to the awesome notebooks, especially PaperBlanks, my favorite notebook brand. But in the end, I only walked away with one thing…

image

It’s a vinyl Luna Lovegood figurine called a “Pop!”. These vinyl statues are becoming well known among the geek community, as most franchises have a set of them. I decided to start collecting them when I bought Sherlock at a convention.

So Sherlock and Luna begin my collection and another cape day comes to a close.

Old Cape Cod

Every year starting when I was seven, my Grandmother takes me and my sister to Cape Cod for a week of vacation. So, once again we are here, and I will be giving you a peek into our trip over the course of this year.

Today, we arrived at the house in Harwich at 1:00 pm, a record time for us! It’s nice, with two stories – we’ve only ever stayed in one two story home before. I have a double-twin bed room.

Time for pictures!!!
